Meet The Owner
Hello, I’m Dannie Lomas, owner of Nettie’s. I built this place with my own hands and named it after my late mother — it’s been a labor of love ever since. My wife Theresa runs the kitchen, I run everything else, and together we’ve made Nettie’s a home away from home for Queens Village.
My Story
Nettie’s started with a name and a promise. I named the restaurant after my late mother, and from day one the goal was simple: build a place that felt like home for anyone who walked through the door.
Before Nettie’s, I spent years in law enforcement. When it was time for a new chapter, I found this space — a spot I’d actually come to know years earlier through one of my laundry businesses, back when it was still a daycare. Once I got the space, I got to work. I did a lot of the renovation myself, brought on contractors where I needed to, and eventually expanded into the building next door and the upstairs too. Every wall, every detail — I had a hand in it.
My wife Theresa is the heart of our kitchen. I handle the vision, the building, and everything that keeps the doors open. Together, we’ve built more than a restaurant — Nettie’s is a gathering spot where regulars from Queens Village, Brooklyn, and Long Island come to feel at home, whether it’s a Sunday morning at our Retiree Breakfast Buffet or a Teen Table Talk night for the neighborhood’s next generation.
This restaurant carries my mother’s name and my family’s hands. I couldn’t be prouder of what it’s become
